Was in the Carribean on a cruise and I snapped a few pics while I was down there, all of these had pretty much mint bodies....and the one I'm standing next to has a one peice windsheild frame and cowl...never knew it existed...unless it's a newer model than what was available in Canada...eg. 1992-up. Only saw one tintop and was driving by it on a tour bus so I never had a chance to take a pic of it....Pics were taken at Aruba, Caracao and St. Thomas.....for some reason I wasn't able to get...

Yeah, the one piece frame and cowl was on the JDM spec Jimnys from about 1997+ IIRC.

Do you remember what the front grille looked like? Was it the style with the round turn signals outboard of the headlights?

Doh, I see the white one has the one piece cowl, frame and grille I am talking about.

Pretty sure it had the same front end as the white one.....I did see tons of the Jimnys running around.....a little smaller than the Samurais.....definately narrower..

And I found this on the Dutch side of St. Maarten.....

I always thought the Rocky (Feroza) was a neat looking little truck. When I used to pour over the trader looking for Suzuki deals I remember seeing Rocky's imported from Florida in the trader.

Yeah, IIRC there were two Jimnys. One was basically a Samurai and then there is a Kei class car for places like urban Tokyo and such. The Kei version was the one with the turbo 0.6 liter engine or something like that.

Gawd, anyone got a broom so that I can sweep the cob webs off the top of my brain? Where the hell was that info stored in there?

And the only truck I could snap a pic of that was lifted.....Did see a Jeep at a dealership lot that was lifted on 33's but was travelling by it too fast to snap a pic....(and of course the Princess was thrilled that her camera's memory card was filling up with pics of "stupid" trucks...lol)

Great...now you have me wishing I did take some pics of the silly little truck to figure out which one it was.....

Well, if it was smaller than a Samurai but looked more or less the same then in was the Kei-class version.

In Tokyo (and other Japanese cities?) vehicles in the urban areas are taxed based upon engine size and physical size. That's what the term "Kei-class" of vehicle refers to and why we see these rinky-dink little cars like the small Jimny, Suzuki Cappuccino, Honda Beat, etc.

Yeah, it would be a great truck to build especially if the top comes off as I think it does...(along with the section over the driver and passenger). You got any pics of this model truck with the top off Chris??

Not in digital format. I think there are some images in "Das Grosse Suzuki Buch" and one of the Brooklands volumes on Suzuki. I can try to scan a few images.

I'm fairly certain those off coloured panels lift off like a Sidekick/Tracker.

I'm liking the newer style front grills with the turn signals beside the head light...

Great litle truck, the last one I had before moving over the big water. 1.6 FI, 95 hp, rear leaf, front torsion IFS, removable hard top. Made by Daihatsu - Toyotas HD truck department, most parts interchangable with Toyota.
