Shock mounts.

Loco

I'd wheel it
I've been thinking of raising my front lower shock mounts on the sami from ~2" below the axel tube to ~1" above it. Does anyone see any problem with this if the vehicle sees some hwy driving? I know most factory setups have the shocks mounted below the tube and I figure it has something to do with stability but has anyone had any personal experience (bad or good) or have heard of anything bad about having the front shocks mounted above the tube?

Thanks.

thats where mine are. bolt center 1" above
bolt center 1" from weld and about 2"back of tube
my diff is 1" forward of stock ,hole drilled in perch.stock sami springs.
ford shock towers welded to frame as high as possible to inner skirt so i can run longest shock possible with that set up. the shock is straight up and dosent touch anywhere at full articulation. except the 33 12.50 15 thornbirds did at full artic. just started taking paint off when you force it in there. and is stable on road . cause shock is vertical on mine. works great for me.
hope this helps
