I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me where i can get a snorkel for my 08 4 dr rubicon. I just want it for looks really. I also heard about a smoke stack but i'm not sure if they are the same thing. I was told by someone that most people make them themselves .

I've always been a fan of the homemade hummer intake on the TJ. One of the few homebrews that looks good. Not sure if you can do it on the JK.

Another option (although for a TJ but may work for the JK?) is a cowl based snorkle. Essentially, you move the intake from under the hood into the cowl. Doesn't change the look of the jeep and won't get hung up on trees.

And won't get destroyed if you roll.

I use my wife as an anti-roll device. Any off-camber stuff and she gets out of the vehicle, walks away and hides behind a tree. I'm not kidding!

Then I know if have another 20 degrees or so to play with :lmao:

Just as an aside, the air intake on the JK is 'conveniently' placed towards the front left of the engine compartment, which makes it both a pain to run a snorkel to it, and leaves it vulnerable to water. Some of the cleaner snorkel install kits come with a battery relocation bracket so that you can run the air intake back and then out of the hood nearer the cowl.

That is always the first thing on my mind when I roll! Fewww glad I didn't have that snorkle.....hehehehe. I have been over 5 times and still haven't busted my bug deflector. It was the first thing I put on my first Zuk back in 88. Not sure what that thing is made of?
