Suck down winch cable mounting

This for anybody who already has a front or rear suck down setup up:

I am finally going to hook up my front axle to be able to suck down the front of the truck, I am planning on running a small cable to my normal winch and run it off my stinger and through some tubes/grommet to a crossmember I am going to make under my engine. Now my axle is fairly far back especially with the 4.0l being so long on the front hence having to run the tubes.
1. How much force do you figure is on the suck down...

I think it is going to wear pretty fast. Why not run it through a couple of pullies instead of the tube.
1.5 .120 I would think would be stong enough but I would be more worried about what you are going to weld it to (unibody????)

Sounds rather complicated, I think you'd be better with a second winch. How 'bout mounting the second winch to the axle and run the cable up to the crossmember (such as you can have with the unibody) With what you are describing (if I'm understanding it right) will be a PITA if you ever need the winch to pull yourself. I'll be running my main winch as a suck-down but the cable will be nearly straight down (10 deg off vertical?) and I'll be able to easily unhook it & re-route it for a pull if need be.

as far a the forces go I've snaped 1/4" cable on my rear suck down, you have the weight of the axle and tires plus depending on how much compression you want, the pressure of the springs as well.
