Super hydrophobic and oleophobic coating. Think of the possibilities.

My roomate, a chemical engineer student(no he doesn't make drugs) mentioned that it's the first time he sees a product repel both water and oil. Notice how mud and cement doesn't stick at all? I was thinking of doing the windsheilds, would be favourable when mudding. But then, Imagine doing the WHOLE TRUCK. Then, you rock crawlers won't be so scared of the mud. It would be nice to know if it repels salt too, making it totally worth the price. My other roommate, aprofessional kayaker, did some more research and found that application takes an hour, and last years. Can be tinted, but is not totally clear in pure form - you can see a faint yellow tint in some examples.

It'd be great on the tires to get them dry faster going from wet to rocks. Heck, if it was cheap enough we could spray it on the rocks before we crawl over them :lmao:

Here is the link to the product http://www.globalindustrial.ca/g/ja...t/liquid-coatings/ultra-ever-dry-coating-2240 Actually it is cheaper at the manufacturer's site. http://www.ultraeverdrystore.com/products/
I thought the other price was too cheap. And the other link clearly says sold separately. After reading more that is not a terrible price for the spray bottles as you need 2 distinctive application devices for the top and bottom coat and the bottles have to be xylene and acetone compatible.
I still might order some, the product I mean, I already have spray bottles. But enough about me.

Another update. My roommate got his money back on the spray bottles. That's good business. Also, he contacted the manufacturer directly and he might get sponsored and will be able to test some new products. Whoever's got a rust free frame should try contacting them on behalf of OVO and ask if they would like to sponsor a truck or two. An undercarriage shot of mud flying around and not sticking would be worth a million bucks.

A similar product by NeverWet is being sold in spray cans by Rustoleum, and someone locally found some at Home Depot for $20. Here's their promo vid:

Funny, the same product was posted on another forum I belong to. Pretty cool stuff.

Apparently there are some serious health concerns with Nano technology....

Ya, it repels water, and we are made of water. Don't breathe the stuff, or any other kind of contact. Buy it while you can, this will be the next DDT.

Retraction: it's on Homedepot.com, not .ca.

I don't think this is nano tech, just re-producing a texture found on some plants. Anyways, most chemicals, synthetic and natural, haven't been fully tested for human health, so we're taking chances every day.
