They are all off 4.0l so they should all be 23spline, I can't remember what they're out of other than that. I think the two good ones are both from XJ's and the one with the broken output shaft from a TJ.
The key thing to be asking is
A: which year they out of
B: Auto or Standard
There is a variance between older and newer 23 spline if they have short or long input.
When I did my doubler the input on my 231 was a short input but the input on the one that was made into the front was long input.
I didn't think it was a big deal as I figured I could swap input shafts. Yeah that doesn't work as the teeth are different on the input shaft and corresponding ring gear between the years (I think it was 95-97 it all changed (?) ) do not mesh and since the ring gear is pressed in you have to destroy the case to get the old one out. Basically measure the amount sticking out of the one being replaced and make sure it matches the one going in. Now if you go from a long to a short you may be able to get away with an extended seal.
Good thing is for $50 you get both styles. Friday after 4:30pm or Saturday before 10am is good for me. Not sure what tranny you're looking for but I think I have an AX15 in the shed too.
