I've installed the Trailgear highsteer kit on my 85 xcab and now i'm at the pitman arm stage.I used the trail gear front spring hanger and a RUF (rears up front )pack to keep it low. my problem is the high steer kit came with a dropped pitman arm, the springs have little arch to them with the weight of the truck on them. After clearancing the rad support and rotating the steering box i have like 2.5" from the TRE to the spring sitting on flat ground with the weight on. i think i could get...

I'm ot sure how much up travel i will have with these leaf packs and i will need run bump stops.

Eyeball it out, because the flat one will have the TRE nut is upwards and could rub on the frame. If you really want to know if it'll clear, lift the driver side tire on a ramp or picker and you'll see what you need.

I have the flat pitman arm instock by the way, next day shipping.

This is all just mocked up right now. I have the IFS steering box mouting kit as well but nothing is drilled or welded yet. i don't have a ramp or picker and shes just a roller right now. I know could limit the travel with bumps but i'd like to get the arm out of the way and set up the bumps when she mobile. this truck has been a great learning experience, but has been dragging on too long. i'm going to ask on pirate4x4 ad see what is said but i think the flat pitman is going to be needed. i bought all my stuff from you Danny and i have you on speed dial. i just wanted to ask around before I spent more money.

Update: received a flat pitman arm last week got it mocked up and in the same location i had 2.5" clearance between the TRE and front driver spring with the dropped arm, now with the flat pitman arm in the same power steering box location, I have 4" spring clearace with 1/4" from the frame on TRE nut. i'm happy now. Just need to drill for the sleeves and weld the IFS PS box mount on. Thanks again Danny
