Where can I go to get my stripped transfer case fill plug removed? I've gone to 2 tranny shops with no luck. Its a 24mm rounded bolt. I'm guessing someones gotta weld on another nut? dunno? I've run out of ideas and time.

Thanks Szabo, appreciate the suggestion. Figured at least one of these web wheelers would be able to help me. :lmao:

I gave him Scott's number and told him to buy some tools. But I guess us web wheeler's don't get out much!

:smokin:

Ironic how when I was looking for some assistance I got no response, but the moment I mention Web wheeling everyone chimes in....:stir:

Possibly because you gave the answer everyone else had in your post? Other than welding a nut/something to get leverage, or vice grips and a torch (my dad's solution to everything), I don't know what else people would suggest.

Thanks for the opinion, but I believe if you were to read the original post again it would go something like this:

"Where can I go to get my stripped transfer case fill plug removed?"

I don't think the answer to that question was in my post, but if the location of a shop that could help me out was somehow mysteriously coded in my own original post and I am unable to unveil the secret that unlocks the code than I would forever be in your web wheeling debt if you would be so kind as to show me the way to properly dissect my own wording so as to answer my own question. It would save me a whole lot of time for future questions I may have.

But I digress......:lmao:

Anyway truck is all figured out. Thanks again Szabo, y'know I'd never suggest you don't wheel. Drop me a line, lets go shredding when the runs are all open.

Yep, you asked where you could go...you also stated the only suggestion that anyone here gave you, to weld on a nut. Pretty much any garage can do that as well as anyone on the board with a welder.

For a suggestion, find a small shop close to your home/work/whatever, get to know the guys, and take your junk there regularly. That's what I did, and it pays off in a little off the price and someone who knows my truck.

How many answers do you need? I am confused? Mike told you the answer you were seeking. If this didn't suite your ability you should have said " sorry don't have acess to a welder, is there another way to do this?" Then you call us all web wheelers? Joking or not, it doesn't make people want to answer your questions in the future. You asked for Scott's number and I gave it to you. He has a welder. You also got your answer over on ZookPower and fixed the problem, but yet you keep going on about it here? why?

[/rant]

First of all Mike knows I don't have a welder or know how. So that was a bit of a running joke between the two of us and truly had nothing to do with you. I am sorry if you are confused...but all I did was ask if anyone knew of a shop to go to for some help. I thought thats what this forum was for? and what I pay my annual membership fees for? No one had any shop suggestions...which is fine. But I am totally entitled to make a sarcastic comment about the lack of reponse to a totally legitimate question. You make sarcastic comments ALL the time...plus it wasn't directed at anyone specifc at all. You mention that I am going on and on? What I did was thank Mike for making a suggestion, comment that my truck is now fixed and respond to a comment made on my thread. If sarcastically responding to a comment on a thread that I started is considered "on and on" then you John are the king of on and on comments.

The thing I am confused with is you know where Scott lives, you know where Scott works, You had his cel number? Candian tire could have fixed this problem. I'm still not sure what answer you were looking for? If it was so urgent I would have taken it to the closest shop to where I live. The point is , most peole don't know the inside joke between you and Mike, so they just assumed that you had your anwer and moved on.

Read the thread before you comment. "Where can I go to get my stripped transfer case fill plug removed? I've gone to 2 tranny shops with no luck.

obviously already took it to the closest shop to where I live.

Anyway. End thread hijack end thread. I'll be sure to not post any potentially upsetting responses to unanswered questions from here on out.
I'm going web wheeling.

Some of us, the web wheelers, have never even seen a drain plug :flipoff:, althogh I have some ideas about I am afraid to discuss them - web wheeling is not like the real one.

If I could add.....

None of this was mentioned in the original post. The obvious answer to most of us is to fix it ourselves (atleast it is to me). You also asked HOW to fix the problem which was answered.

You may also want to update your profile or specifically mention where you live. Dirk suggesting somewhere in Renfrew isn't a whole lot of help if you live in Embrun.
