Modded vehicles are even hard to safety in ON unless you know the proper place. Not to mention the dark side - even real proper roadworthy vehicles are sometimes hard to pass - been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, no more, thank you very much.

Yeah, its gov't regulated and they are extremely anal. They won't even pass a vehicle if a door bushing is loose!

If its not 'TOO' modded, the mechanics seem to be slightly more leniant at the Inspection Centre in Shawville. And they speak english there which is a bonus.
The ones in Gatineau and Hull are really bad...

I thought they wouldnt give me a hard time if it was clean and well maintained and not too much of a monster. Does anybody know what it is about modding or which mods are the sticking points? Does moderately modifying a vehicle break any laws,or conformity rules?

They are extemely picky towards suspensions lifts or drops, if the truck came spring under axle it cannot be SPOA. They normally tolorate body lifts if done properly. Tires have to match in all four corners, yes same name brand ect.. and not stick out of the fenders.

Good luck!

Basically if it wasn't stock it is modified. The sticker on the doors tells you the tire size for that vehicle. Anything biggers will affect braking. Any lift will affect center of gravity and also bumper height regulations. depending on the lift it will cause all sort of funky lifting or jacking in hard cornering. So there are many things to look at beyond how the kit was even built or installed.

:smokin:
X2, plus you need to proove the DOTability of the lift and stuff, which is somewhat hard when ure using some home brewed stuff.
