Tubing Notcher

How much do these things cost?

Does PA sell one worth a damn?

I need to notch some tubes but don't really want to have the equipment lying around after the project. Anyone have one they are willing to loan out for a couple of evenings?

I've got a JD2 Notchmaster I could loan you, but I'm in NB until mid-next week. Like most other stuff, me being in Pet presents some logistical challenges, but I could meet you in the middle somewhere.

DISCLAIMER - I need to change the needle bearing for the shaft - to say I've been a little abusive to it would be a bit of an understatement, but if you don't mind that the shaft wobbles slightly, and you'd have to provide your own hole saw, then we can set something up.

I'd only need it for an evening or two - like over a weekend or something. The tube I'm cutting wee stuff ( ~1" OD and 1/16" wall). I'm making a truss to stiffen the back of the rear suspension subframe on the S2000 before it goes back on the the road (~Apr 1st).

If the tube is that small/light why not just put a hole saw in a drill and have at it? Leave the tube long enough that there is scrap sticking out the far side of the saw so the cutting edges are balanced. May be a bit more of a challenge if the cut is on an angle. Shouldn't be that hard to keep within your tollerances.

Just a thought
