turning a 95 yj to a tj with a 97 grand cheroke

well the title says it all the cheroke is an auto do the difs have the same gears as the non auto diffs and has this ever been done before i'm looking at some pointers to do this build ...i'm good with the trackers but jeeps i'm just getting into..ps is there a kit for that f&^King front diff to replace that vacum fork to lock it..tia

yj_driver converted his YJ to coils, but he used a TJ frame to do it. I think he just used the TJ frame as it was brand new, he still cut all of the stock coil buckets and link mounts off and fabbed his own.
Sounds like you are biting off quite a bit to chew on!

will not be using the cheroke frame just the suspension and difs....the? is are the diffs off an auto trans geard the same.....

What diffs does the Cherokee have? If it is only Dana 35 and 30 is it even worth it? Chances are you will end up swaping them out in a couple years anyways. You can usually get Ford 8 1/2" and Dana 44s pretty cheap off Jeepkings. You can even usually find the spring pirches and shock mounts already welded on to bolt right up to a TJ.
So i guess my question is what Diffs are in the Cherokee that you want to swap in?

Obviously as there is no one. And check the rear cherokee dif, AFAIR they switched to aluminum center section sometime than, you dont want one.
