Twist-Off

I would like to bring back the Twist-Off this year and I am looking for some idea's/help.

What I am looking for is two things:

1 - Location

Does anybody know of a good, highly visible, spot we can use? Going back to OFS is fine if they will have us but if anybody has any contacts with other locations, let me know. (thinking something like the zellar's mall in Bells Corners)

2 - BBQ

The only real money that this event brings in for charity is the BBQ. Jon Wilson mentioned a while...

OFS is an awesomes shop, but the number of people walking in and out is pretty limited. What about Canadian Tire or Rona? I'm pretty sure they allow charity car washes. Can we get girls in bikinis? You know........for charity? A&W on merivale has a big(ish) parking lot and allows car shows.

That'd be handy since alot of the rigs are topping out our 23 degree ramp. The new goal, top out the 30 degree!

I think i know what twist off is, but i think the last year was around 2007 or so and that's right when i started lurking here. For those not familiar, perhaps you should mention what it is all about

Sorry, just have added more to this.. It's a kind of local obstacle course, show off your goodies, kind of affair correct? And of course, to raise awareness and money for a local cause?

I think i recall one at the Benson's ??? Store behind East Side Marios in Bells Corners..

Yup, That is the last one we had. It is basically various mall crawling events, RTI Ramp, block climb, teeter toter, Tire Air Down, Closest to the pin, etc... With a show and shine mixed in.

I may be out to lunch on this one, but how about the Rona in Stittsville? Very good sized parking lot, I can take care of advertising in this area (flyers, posters, etc) and is a very high traffic area due to it being on Hazeldean.

There is also a chip truck on the lot (even more traffic, and I'm sure deals could be made with him aswell, instead of a BBQ)

If there is interest in that I can look into it more.

I have no problems with the location if you have an ability to get it for us. As for the Chip truck, I would still rather have the BBQ go to a charity.

sounds like fun. I hope this comes together! I would definitely make the trip out if I was off work that weekend Let me know if I can help with anything, I'm pretty far away but could help with computer stuff (facebook event page, mentioning it on all the other forums)
