Tuesday morning, 12:49 am. Just rolled in from Big Dogs in Virginia. Another unreal adventure. Sooooo many tales to tell. Brief story and pics / video to follow shortly.

Sasquatch, Fire-boy, Crewchief - you KNOW a guy could never ask for better friends! Thanks!

PS - Sasquatch - tranny was a MAN 5 SPD, GETRAG, 84MM, 4.00 1ST, O/D (i.e., light duty and crap)

What was the Vortec worth? I was looking at Harry's specials last week and motors were up soon. Did you luck out and hit there on motor week?

Bill picked it up for $143.00 for engine, wiring harness, and computer...

Two weeks before, all engines were $75.00 :glasses:

Still, an awesome price none the less. You didn't take the camper to Big Dawgs? Not living life in luxury with the price of fuel these days? LoL

You KNOW it was a great trip when there are only a few pics of the arrival, a couple from the ONE time we stopped on the trail, and a couple of the trip home.

Of course...the video will tell another side of the story ! :D

RFC!

Buster - That tranny would never have gone in your truck, nor would it be any good for Fireboy's Yuke. It's a 6000lb GVWR model.

Everything on that truck was as base / light as you could get. 3.42 gears, no LSD, etc.

Missing the "tree avoidance system" too, I should imagine :lmao:

Crap.... Too bad the Emissions sticker was part of the tree or we could have known that earlier...

BTW: This is the harness I was talking about:

Would be a perfect swap for mine though :flipoff:

Well, I wouldn't call it crap, old chap :flipoff:

I prefer. "bit of a shame, but well worth $143, especially considering I had such great friends help me pull it."

They still go for $800-1400 according to car-part.com though.

If all goes well, I may get a look at the plugs and a compression check today.

Hopefully it didn't run too long on its lid!

You know what reeks? Back up trailer to shop. Stop. Lower ramps. Back into shop. Get out crane. Hook up crane. Undo the world's most complicated ratchet-strap spaghetti monster. Lift engine. Pull trailer forward. Heave crane w. engine backwards into shop. Raise ramps. Pull trailer forward into unload position. Lower ramps. Unload buggy. Store buggy in shop. Raise ramps. Back trailer into position. Unhook trailer. Back truck into position. Unload camper. Clean camper. Go through everything and sort out Justin's stuff. Clean out truck. Load Justin's stuff to take back to him. Check OVO forums.

The smell is strong with this one...
