Hey all,

I just recently put new lift rear leafs on my YJ (about 2 inches above stock) and there is a pretty enoying and slightly concerned vibrating happening under my truck. Some said that it might be because my drive shaft might be at its limit. It was perfectly fine before I added the new leafs and now its really bothering me. It vibrates when shifting from gear to gear and when I am cruzing in 4th at around 2500RPM / 80km.... Hope this makes sence.. LOL

1. Is this dangerous ?
2. Will...

If you want cheap but effective, you might want to consider putting in a driveshaft spacer.

Were would I go for these '' spacers '' for the drive shaft ???? and do you have any idea how much and if its easy to install... ?

And it was pretty noticeable right away.. I only had them put on last Saturday. I felt it when I was heading back home after getting it done.

A vibration after a lift is usually caused by the driveshaft angle being too steep.

Solutions are usually the following:
Transfer case drop
motor mount lift (MML)
slip yoke eliminator (SYE)

Could also be u-joints, but the timing would seem suspect.

Thank you for you help...

One more question. Which one of the above '' fixes '' would be easiest and or the lease expensive. I really do not have a ridiculous amount of cash overflowing out of my pockets, know what I mean....

and

does anyone know of anyone who might be wanting to install it when I get the part ?????

Thank you

Danny

TC drop is the least expensive, but why drop the TC and lose the ground clearance you gained by lifting it in the first place? $5 for a couple of washers and bolts.

An MML is in the middle, it will lift your engine and thus oil pan higher off the ground. It will tilt your TC forwards and reduce the rear driveline angle, however it will also tilt the front of your case up and increase your front DS angle. Lifted motor mounts will run you maybe $50

SYE is the fix for this. Remove the slip from the TC and a new DS to go with it. You'd be looking at a couple hundred for this, but no more vibration issues.

You know dude what people are saying - do it right, do it once. Go with SYE and double CV shaft. More expencive but worthed every penny. IMO

They have a shop in Chateauguay..near Montreal.
Its a 1.5 -2 hr drive ( depending on how your drive LOL) But they do great work. They have done all the work on my truck and completely build my bro's jeep. ox lockers, 4.5 superflex 4:56's etc and he had a motor mounts installed there. They warranty their work and very honest and fair with both install prices and parts.

I had a TC drop installed on my truck...but Im driving a full size dodge CTD 2500 megacab, its really not going to be offroad as much as Im sure you are planning lol

Mike is the owner, great guy and knows jeeps. Tell him Mindy told you to call. I like him to know all the ppl I send him, gets me a better deal on rubber haha:p
