Warn 8274 (not rolling back in)

Chello,

PROBLEM:Not pulling in cable.
I have cleaned all connections, The winch works by remote to spool out, Although all it does when I try to roll back in, Is solenoids click.
( A couple wires were off when I got this. So a possibility is that the wires are not just quite correct.)

There should be three wires coming off the solenoids, one should have power in and out, this one goes on the middle of the motor and energizes the magnetes, the other two wires should attach near the end, one should have power on in and the other on out.

Yes , I have the red main cable on top of the solenoid on the left side. and there are two blk cables going to the right side solenoids. These blk go to the top of the winch motor. Iam trying to find picture of the wiring somewhere on internet.

I just had my 8274 stick on while pulling myself out - i got out and pulled the freespool out quickly and then banged the solenoids - that stopped it. I am buying an albright solid state solenoid out of the UK, mountng it up at the batteries and I souldnt have to worry about it for years to come.

I use a large heavy-duty marine switch that I run all 12v+ through (except batt+ for the ECM), including the winch, and that I can reach from the driver's seat for this very reason.

Yeah, I have a Cole Hersee solenoid that's rated for 300 amps continuous controlling my winch motor and it sticks on really had pulls. Talk about scary!

Master disconnect switches are your friend.
