What is a godd GPS unit for Ottawa Area

I need to find a good GPS unit so I don't get my son lost in the woods. The better half said that I can get lost, but not my son.

The ETREX made by Garmin is very good, it is used by the military and can be bought at Crappy tire for a decent price. It is a reliable, compact unit that can easily be loaded with maps and has the ability to utilize a memory card for downloading maps of large areas.
