Who can replace camshaft and lifters?

Hi, I have a 2005 TJ 4.0L with a really worn camshaft gear and I'm not sure how much life is left in it before it strips out completely and stops turning the oil pump :(

This will also mean lifter replacement as well whatever gaskets need to be replaced.

Can anyone recommend a good shop or individual to have this done?

If the cam is worn that badly, I would be worried about the main bearings and pistons. Did the engine run out of oil? I would look into a used engine.

Nah, it's just a known problem with the 2005 and 2006 Wranglers where the OPDA gear and camshaft gear just don't like eachother.

I'd like to replace both the engine and tranny at some point, but it runs as is for now, so i'd like to keep it going for as long as I can.

Any recommendations on garages?

I have been passively browsing places like usedottawa for a donor for a better drivetrain, but I have no clue what will and won't put me in a worse sitution than I am now.

Mike (mlorint) works at Bourke's on Carling near March, if you're in Kanata, it'd be a good place to go.
