Hmmmm, that'd make the 'Runner fun to drive, then I could really rip that front diff out of 'er. But alas I must get the body swapped first.

I said body swap FIRST, I didn't say NO. :)

Sounds like it'd be an fairly easy swap, I'd have to swap tranny and t-case to though, correct? That'd make it easier to go double cases at that point. :) Wait a minute, this is my street truck/tow vehicle now, I said I wasn't wheeling it anymore.

Your truck has the R150F tranny and Chain driven T-Case. My Bellhousing won't bolt to that tranny so yes, you would have to swap to W56/Gear Driven T-Case (I can include these) or custom bell housing for R150F.

You need more power for towing :D

This would open up an easy 7M-GTE upgrade later on...

You should be able to keep the chain case and IFS if you want...?

The R150F is V6 and the W56 is 22RE speed right? Sorry total Yota Noob.... I have been researching transes for an upcoming diesel project so I know just enough to be dangerous :smokin:

Wouldn't a gear-drive T case be a good thing :stir::D:D

Does the R150F and R151F have the same bellhousing mounting? I know the R151F has a 4 cyl bell, just wondering if the R151 4 cyl and R150 V6 bellhousings interchange at the trans...

Sorry about the thread hijack!

(free bump?:D)

Yes, the bell housing is interchangeable but you would still be stuck with the Chain Driven T-Case, If you can find an R151 bell housing, might as well just get the whole tranny and then you can use the Gear Driven Case.

Well I'm tired of driving rusted out POS. So, with the new body there will be NO wheeling. LoL Yah, I say that now. If this motor is still around when the time comes, maybe I'd think about it. Next project is tires...
