okay so i brought 04 rubicon to car canada chrysler on prince of whales may 4 2009...when i talked to them they said i needed
1.front diff cover
2.u joint
3. drive shaft
4. power distribution center+ wiring harness

so for power distribution center they said 7-10days to get the part
for the drive shaft they said 10-15days (should they not still have it in stock as it is drive train and a warranty part)

so i call back 15days later and they are like...uhhh are you sitting down, cause were...

Considering the bankruptcy and the fact that everything is in negotiations right now, including deals with the parts manufacturer, you can complain all you want but it's not going to change things. I'm under the understanding right now that until things are negotiated with the parts manufacturers they are unable to get any parts.

Were this 6 months ago I'd say bitch at them, but right now I think it's a waste of your time.

I needed a new horn pad on mine last year. Took about 4 weeks to get it. Some stuff has to come from the states. I would also be calling all of the other dealers and see what they say. Then call their parts department and see how long to get it in.

Silly question but why a new diff cover, did you bash it against something?

Sending parts again - lots of catch up to do.
Again, just my thoughts.

well my 2 cents is that car canada sucks know a couple of techs that used to work there, i asked a couple ppl and your drive shaft is diff cover is stock somewhere close they say.. the rest they say has to come from states...and as for the catching up on parts is out to lunch cause all the replacement parts are now NOS the tj is no longer in production so that shouldnt be affected. the auto industry as a hole keeps parts for up to 3 or 4 model yaers after production..

even if it was coming from the farthest state in the us it should not take 40+days

I work at a GM dealer :)() and we will sometimes give the option of Fed Ex or UPS to get parts. Call the dealer and suggest that you split the cost of overnighting the Parts.

I think its rediculous for a car company/dealer to make a customer wait that long for parts, without adequate compensation.
No wonder they are bankrupt......
