It's a convoy marker light. It lights up in the dark for tactical night time driving with no lights on.....

No, it has normall low watage bulb but the stripes are fluorescent.

Funny enough, these are still on even the NEWEST trucks that we just purchased for our fleet. Which is funny, cuz not too many guys know whatthey are for, they are just sort of there.

We have them on our tanks too, and they been around for 20-30 years
