Buying it pretty much emptied my wallet, so no immediate plans..It's is presently lifted 2" with an 1.5" body lift also, 33"x12.5" BFG mud terrians, 4.11's..I'm thinking sliders and lockers before spring but other than that being new to Jeeps I have no idea where to go from there.....Hoping a 350 transplant by next fall, but we'll see.

Congrats and welcome to the dark side. Quadratec has everything under the sun and is great for getting an idea what is out there but look elsewhere as you can usually find it cheaper (or with free shipping).

Sadly it's the 2.4 hence the possible 350 swap..it's a 98 and in pretty good shape.

350 swap is cool but is definetly not needed. A 4.0L swap would be much cheaper, easier and more fuel efficient. It also has more than enough power. A 4.0L swap is basically bolt in and they are very cheap now days. You can find a good motor and all the harness and computer on jeepkings. Somtimes for only a couple hundred bucks.

tlowe outwheeled alotta 4.0L's (and some bigger) with a 2.5 and 35's. I say leave the motor swap(for now) and invest it into your axles first. besides, I don't think your drivetrain would last long with a small block chev under the hood

As previously mentioned, wheel it and then start making a list... I've bought a few things through Dan at National 4WD in Smiths Falls. Price has been bang on, good guy to deal with. Congrats on the purchase and furthering your illness.

x3... Keep the 2.5 for now. I need some comraderie :) Axles, then perhaps a gear change at the TC.... unless you are doing 1/4 miles, you should be golden.

And Congrads!

A few friends have also told me that this engine is vey good and not to change it out..I do like the idea of putting money elsewhere...axles..armour...etc... would would I be running right now as far as gearing and axles? I was told the gearing is 4.11, but I know nothing of Jeeps.

Keep the engine....
spend money on lockers, etc....way more bang for the buck.
Engine power is maybe a factor in 5% of situations, while other mods are alot more useful. Ask me how I know. :flipoff:
