Bah I think im getting screwed on a balance/install job is this legal?

I was getting different quotes from people, asking specifically for balance and install as part of the price,

one guy said they could get it for me for 224$ a tire, the other guys 224.50$

I said right in my quote form that I wanted balance and install and now they informed me its 100$ extra, I only went with that company because they had the best quote but it seems like they mislead me. for the 4 dollars I would have had a balance and install job. The hell is going on.

their competitors that were the next cheapest emailed me
"Hi Ian,

I can get these tires 31x10.50-15 LRC MTR w/ Kevlar
The price would be $224.50ea. Installed, balanced and new valve stems. I could have them within a week once ordered.
All taxes are extra."

So knowing the install and balance was extra i would have went with these guys

Can they do this to me? I mean, ive already ordered it, its in there warehouse now and they are saying that install and balance is a seperate quote even though my quote with them SAID i wanted the install and balance.

That's called misrepresentation and it is against the law. Even if it was a verbal agreement they have to honor it.

im just going to pick up the tires at this point. pay them and bring them somewhere else for the balance and install, they aren't getting any more money out of me, no one go to ottawatiredirect

Well they never said there is install and balance included, like the other one:

now is too late, you should have asked before for clear confirmation that the service is included.


Oooo, Ottawa tire direct eh, no one should go there period.

yeah I know they clearly didnt say it and thats why i think they can fight me on it.

its just that I clearly said quote me for tires, balance and install and they said its going to be 224 a tire so i ASSUMED (assouttameandyou)

so im probably not going to win any arguments, i guess i know for next time
