Hi Guys,

As you may or may not know there is a RHD import ban in quebec, rules and regs, and registration will become more difficult for RHD vehicles already in quebec as well. If you live in Ontario you should expect that this will be coming our way as well in the near future.

The same rogue committee (CCMTA) that is pushing this through to the provinces as also pushing for urban fleet renewal and are targeting excessive height modified vehicles - ie. trucks with big lifts, rigs with...

I appreciate your response and you are right - all of us need to get involved. The CCMTA is basically the body that was organized when TC needed someone to do their dirty work. They are arms length from the gov't but make recommendations to Transpost Canada - and they almost always - if not always go through without a battle. Funny enough the CCMTA is made up of reps from all provinces/territories, and provincial insurance companies, the head of ICBC (Insurance corp of BC) was the old CEO or vice CEO of the Pattison group = the richest man in Canada who owns most of the new car dealerships in BC. This all boils down to the big 3 auto maker protectionism - imagine having to turn your car in every 10 years and having to buy a piece of crap dodge (sorry but they will design them to destruct even earlier), i'd rather have the right to buy and drive what I want.

Next is the modified vehicles, not sure if you know what the boys in Australia have to do with their trucks - any modified vehicle needs engineers approval from certified stations - cost is big money and huge fines are laid for non compliance, many trucks just can't be licensed there because of mods - mods that we take for granted here. They tried this with tire size in Sask or Manitoba I believe and I'm not sure where it sits now but it has created alot of problems.

LOL, well I think you know what I mean:) Right now the big three design trucks and parts with a limited life and kms, imagine if they were given carte blanche with a 10 year trade em in rule.
