i've had this weird vibe in my tacoma, of course only noticed on a road trip shortly after purchase. truck has a vibe that is felt in the pedal and is audible in the cab from 60-65mph. it's been to the stealership numerous times, they put a new rear diff under a tsb but that didn't resolve anything, they admit to feeling the vibes on the hoist and on the road, this was tested with my stock tires and before the 2 inch lift. stealership states this is normal for my truck, not being retarded...

i had a similar issue with my truck, they replaced my rear drive shaft (gotta love warranty) smooth now :). if the issue is there in stock config, unlikely your angles are out, i would be looking a the shaft, have them balance (re balance) it.

i agree on the ds balance also but the dealer absolutely refuses to acknowledge that this is possible, they actually refuse to do any real troublshooting even though they admit to feeling and hearing the vibe. not sure what a ds balancing would cost me or where the best place to take it for this would be, any suggestions on local shops to check with?

on top of the new rear diff that toyota said was the cause and replaced under a tsb part of their "fix" was to add sound dampening material under the seat, seems odd to me.

the reason i'm looking at the angles is several guys on some of the toyota forums have this issue and have found that playing with the angles, even on stock tacomas they can reduce this issue.

the clutch also had to be replaced, was defective, slipped at speed when cold, that was a war also..

YJ_Driver, thanks, I will give you a quick call on Thursday, I may not be able to make to your office, I'm at work until 4:30 downtown, but live 10 mins from Dunrobin.

Take the shaft to Malmbergs, the 1427 MICHAEL ST location does driveshaft work. You'll have to take the shaft out of your truck though.

I'll PM you my home address, that might be easier.

well, truck goes back to dealer today, will try dfferent dealer this time, severe grinding out of rear end when letting out clutch with no gas applied, when going in reverse and also when going over bumps or applying brakes. wondering if my new diff was not installed properly..
