I am in the process of shopping around...
where are some GOOD places to get ARBs and gears installed?
I've already contacted:
Rock Spyder 4x4
National 4x4
Just Jeeps...

where have YOU gotten this work done? experiences (good/bad), price?

I am located near Toronto, but am willing to travel to Ottawa if need be (visit Dad)

thanks!

I had my ARBs w/ 4.56s set up at West Carleton Automotive. Run quiet.

Hmm, it was several years ago. Shame if he's closing up. Really knew his stuff.

Its not really all that hard.. but it requires a lot of patience and that is something I have very little of. which is why after I did the first one myself I brought it to a shop to do.

You have a bearing pulling tool? Like this?

http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-131253-carrier-pinion-bearing-puller.html

Because that is what you need to do unless the gears setup perfectly the with the installed shims and then it's really no work.

Guess i got lucky. I just installed the gears, tested the pattern and it was pretty damn close right on the first try. changed a couple things and tested again and it was good. Thats just how impatient I am. It only took two tries and I was still bitching about it taking too long. lol Glad I didnt need one of those suckers :S

Yeah Yukon and other companies do sell those for a reasonable price, you still have to use a normal press to pull the pinion bearing off and on though as I don't think I have seen any setup bearings for the pinions. To me the tool was worthwhile as I was able to reuse my bearings which were new the year before and frankly unless a differential has been sitting with moisture in it or has tons of miles on it most bearings are resuable.
