Interest in Lavant (cleanup) run on Sunday?

There has been zero interest in doing Carp at this point. With this in mind and what trixter found, I am suggesting making Sunday into a trip to Lavant to run the trail and clean up any fallen trees. Looking at his pictures it may only have been that one tree so it might turn into just a normal run. Is there any interest in going?
The only catch is I can't remember the turns after the unloading point so someone needs to remind me and I don't have a chainsaw :)

Wish I could - I'll be out picking up a new rad and trans cooler, and cleaning up the yard. Fun times.

My aswell clean up the garbage while up there. Looking to go as a passanger if anyone has room. My FJ isn't armored enough to do it....yet. Need axes and chainsaws. Btw, that log is bigger than it appears. I snapped a freebie 2000lb strap in the process.

Yeah you get what you pay for :)
RF2 said he would go and he has a chainsaw. I have small hatchet but I have been itching to get an axe for some unknown reason (all work and no play makes me something something). Maybe I will pick up one up. I may have a spot depending on if my passenger is feeling up to it or not. He wasn't feeling that great on Thursday so he may not come. Waiting for response from him. I figure if I don't hear anything by Saturday mid afternoon, I will have a spot free. Either way I will let you know.

I hate to say this, because something always comes up when I do, but I'm in. I've got a chainsaw, and a spare seat. Actually 3 spare seats.

That would be great.
Weather right now is forecasting rain but it could be showers to severe thunderstorms so still up in the air if it is going to happen.
I figure we go with typical schedule:
Loblaw's Bells Corners 8:30am, stops at Tim Horton's in Almonte at 9:20, then again in Hopetown for approx 10am. (Leaving at those times)
Sound good?

I definitely have a free spot if anyone wants to ride shotgun. Weather is saying 40% chance of showers which is down from yesterday

So it was a MAJORLY successful run today. The people present were
Me (duh)
Cochise (Dan)
rf2 (rob)
berger (Derek)
trixter192 ( Jean-Guy)

After we passed the small tree that trixter had pulled out last weekend we kept heading up. For those who have run it recently the one large tree (24" in Diameter) that was across the trail but high enough to pass under was now on the ground. Took a couple minutes and we were through it feeling quite good about ourselves and figuring that was the worst. Literally 50 feet and one turn later we came across 3 more like that all bunched together. We discussed whether or not to take them on as they were at the top of a small hill and were about 4 feet off the ground. After figuring out a game plan we were able to tackle them. Took about 2 hours with 2 chainsaws and my winch to minimize rolling but we got them out of the way. Dan carved the OVO in the end of one in case anyone wondered who had done it. After that it was clear sailing. Although the Pinzer had an interesting time climbing the ledge and Derek said it took a good while for his heart to settle down. Biggest issue he had was lack of power steering and the drum brakes need some adjusting.
Got to the top and there was only one little bit of rain we had to deal with which was right before the top.

Also we brought out 2 full garbage bags of trash.

Good time had and thanks to all who came out!!

Chris, you forgot to admit to your breakdown. When airing back up, he got his air hose stuck in the fan blades and it pulled off (and possibly stretched) the serpentine belt. Lucky he had a spare, and It took about 45 minutes to figure out how it goes back on.

(Didn't take good videos of the Pinz at this point, it was insane. Rob, you MUST post the pic of it on 3 wheels)

Wow....what a day!! Haven't worked that hard cutting trees in a long time!! The trail was great, but I definitely need more time in the seat. Thanks for walking me through that first climb....and I do have some good news...my pants WERE clean when I got home! :)

Yeah, it was a good time, and it was great to re-open the trail. I'll post my pictures in the next couple of days.

Thanks for clearing the trails guys. And Dan, great idea carving OVO on the log, it'll let other's know we're NOT out there to tear everything up.

For all that work, I say instant membership for those of us not OVO members yet...... ;)
