I have updated the Calendar with all the big events, North Augusta, Rausch Creek, Spring Fever, Twist-Off, etc....

Let's start deciding on Runs.

I will start - I will host a run to the new side of Darling Road - tentatively for April 13.

Let's call the new side "Green Lake" to avoid confusion.

Minimum tire size of 31's (if you show up with 31's - prepare to have to put some effort to make the trail - there are at least 3 spots that you will have to put some effort in to make it)

Just curios what constitutes effort? Is it all rock and boulders, or is it mud etc?

Never been there.

Rock climbs. Most hydro lines you can pretty much take anything down the main road part but this side has three fairly good rocky hill climbs that require some effort for the stockish rigs. I took my TJ just down to the lake and back on 31's and put a good dent in the gas tank. But it is doable on 31's with the right spotting.

We went down to the lake there last summer with the XJs (32" on 4.5", 33" on 6") and didn't have any troubles with it. There's one descent on the ridge before the last one before the lake (IIRC) that has a bit of a ledge in it that a lightly mod'ed XJ on 31s might have a bit of trouble with. I expect spotting and/or careful driving would get it through there no problem though.

I dragged my ARB bumper on the bottom there on the way down. Smooth sailing going up.

The main hydro line is a worthwhile little trail for the lightly mod'ed trucks. It's harder than the Darling Rd. side.

I'd like to see a built, full body truck go all the way up the last hydro tower ridge. May even be a touch technical for a buggy - it's almost vertical in one spot. I didn't go up there with my truck. Adam turned around at the second switchback before it got out of scope.

Expect pin-striping. Probably lots of mud in the low area before the forest hill climb in April.

The main part I was thinking was up to the lookout, it has gotten worse and we had a hard time getting Al's JK up there. Then the climb back out of green lake can be pretty good in a stocker....

Matt and I have been exploring this place on the down low for a couple years. I have a couple sweet spots that nobody knows about gps'd ;)

Thanks. If it is a clearance issue I will be fine. Would you say there are many off-camber lines, or can most be tackled straight on? While the Pinz will go up and down almost anything, my skills and off-camber approaches are still being developed! :D

I doubt a Pinz would have much problems with this trail.

About 10 minutes from Hope Town?

Go to Almonte from the 417, follow the road right through town and keep going till you hit 511. That is Hope Town.

We need trail leaders for June. Lavant and gorge would both be good selections, given we just spent a weekend in calabogie.

Who is available to lead what and when? Let me know if you can trail lead...

I volunteer to lead a run June 1 and 2 at North Augusta! So please let's plan other runs around this. As soon as I get through the first time I will be taking a Gorge run for sure as Connie said on Monday afternoon that we should do a local trail run next weekend with her new Rubi, I think she likes it.

I'll do the lavant camping thing sometime. I'll have to consult with my calendar in the office. If you want June, I can shoot for June.
