Locker advice

So I picked up a set of 4.10 geared axles for my YJ.
I'm looking to put some sort of locker in them over the winter.
Looking at doing both front and rear with a possible rear disc conversion.
I know ARB are the ultimate but in my case currently unattainable due to cost.
Looking at the Spartan/Aussie/Powertrax options. Anyone have a recommendation of one over the other? Durability, etc.

Which rear axle? Sticking with the D35? What is the tire size you are hoping to run? How often do you drive the YJ, and it is on the road in snow and ice?

I broke the LockRite in my AMC20 first time out (PO probably already had done some damage), so take that with a grain of salt. Personally, I'd be asking Logan if he's willing to part with the axles from the XJ at any point, then look really hard at if I wanted to keep the D35 in the rear vs finding a Ford 8.8 like 2Greys did for his TJ. And chunkytrunks had a lunchbox locker in his front D30 in his old TJ, so he can give real world advice on how it handled, how much he liked it.

Personal opinion on the D35 vs 8.8 now? If you are staying at 35 or lower get a Super 35 kit from Revolution and pair it up with whatever locker you decide to do. It's more than adequate for that size, less of a rock magnet than the 8.8 and a lot less work (granted I was converting it over to coils from leafs). If I knew then and had it available (Superior had gone under right before and Revolution wouldn't appear for another 2 years) when I started my swap I would have gone a whole different route. This kit has proven its worth in Johnson Valley and removes the walking out feature of the 35. Granted it moves the fuse from your shafts to the ring gear but it takes more to kill a ring than a stock Dana 35 axle shaft.

Also it looks like Yukon has a knockoff of it with their locker

Staying with the D35. Running 33's. Never sees snow and really only gets driven to the trails.
Only problem with the XJ axles is I'm still leafs front and rear. I know that can be rectified but the axles I got are complete from another YJ.

His XJ axles are geared with ARBs, so if he is willing to part with them, welding on some leave hangers would be easy enough for the gain. I'll defer to Chris on the rest as my Jeep hasn't been off of jack stands in almost 5 years.

Only thing I could say is if you are looking at locking the rear at all get chromo for rear shafts. They may never break until they do.

And for your original question, Aussie lockers would be my vote (beat the shit out of them in 3 different trucks with no issues)

With those kind of lockers however, the cross pin is usually the weak link, not the locker itself.
