Just trying to get an idea of who if any would be interested in a quick morning run to Lavant or any other trail this coming Sunday? Would like to take the TJ out for its first run:)

I know Lavant used to be a sled trail, not sure if it still is or not. Obviously we give the sleds their space in the winter ;) Think the Gorge might be the only real winter option?

Ok I thought Lavant was the only trail open in the winter as the Gorge is a hydro cut line I figured it would be off limits in the winter! Well either way I'm game short winter run on the gorge would be fun:)

I did Lavant in the winter the last two years. There was no evidence of grooming or sled traffic, occasional marks cut across the trail or followed it for 10-20 meters, but no evidence it was used as a trail.

Ah, OK - That old shack at the top was for sledders just not sure they still had a trail there or not. BTW - Can you get me your trophie from last year sometime?

I'm in Kanata during the day if that's easier to drop it off as I've got to get mine to Adrian/the engravers as well.

Yeah I was of the understanding that it was not a sledding trail as well! Just need confirmation and a few willing wheelers for this coming Sunday:)

Someone will be there anytime after 5ish, and we're usually there until 9-something. The group should be up front barring any screwups with the staff.

We ran the Gorge several years ago and it was great. The road in was un-maintained and had snowmobile tracks, but there were no club signs so we went in anyways. The group barely made it to the hydro line and only two of us entered the trail, we didn't even make it to the first obstacle!

I love winter runs but I don't want salt on the Jeep :(

Apparently DARLING trail is open in the winter and it's an easy run.
