Disclaimer - I haven't run either Rock Coady or Burntlands.

From what I've read on both of these trails, they can be done in any vehicle. I've heard, for example, that Matt took his street car (Civic?) through Burntlands, so it should be a trail run that anybody can do, and it's also the reason that the club hasn't run Burntlands in a while. Same story for Rock Coady.

If you haven't done much or any off roading before, I'd highly recommend that you head out to Mitko's safety run in May, and grab a seat for a ride through Carp, or look for a free seat on any other upcoming trail run if you are concerned about it being doable. You'll get some exposure to the types of trails the club usually runs, and you get a chance to see if the sport is for you.

We do not disclose trail locations in the public forum. But Rock Coady is in the same general area. I have been on it once, and it's pretty much on overgrown fire road, which is why we haven't been back to it since it was "discovered".

where are those located ? i could jump in those to start off fully stock to get a hang of it :)

hmm after reading all the posts i don't think this club is for me. i'm obviously new to all this and i was under the impression that there were trails of all levels in the area. i watch youtube videos of touaregs with air suspensions doing insane stuff with normal tires and wheels, so i didn't think it was limited to the Carlingwood mall parking lot. i'm glad i made you all laugh.

Dwyer Hill is pretty tame. There's only on spot I can think of that might give you some trouble. It's a fairly high rock ledge in the middle of the trail. Other than that if you stay out of the deep mud (I should take my own advice) you'd be fine. I think the club does have rules about requiring tow points on your vehicle front and back though.

Edit: Oh yeah and the water can be deep in the spring or after getting a lot of rain.

I think the last time I did Dwyer Hill the water was about even with the bottom of my lights. I have a 98 TJ with a 3" lift and 33" tires to give you an idea and I did end up getting water in my tranny because of that.

Wondering if any one else has room for a newby

I am new to 4x4ing and rather learn a bit befiore abusing my Jeep. I am willing to try anything but it would be nice to sit in a vehicle and see it be done first. I was out once last year in behind spring town with a few of you. Since then i got the u joints replaced and think it ready for some wild times. I probably still need to do some more to it but for now i think it can hold it own. may after seeing some of you i will know better. If any one has room please let me know.
