Camping recommendations?

Looking for a place where I can throw a tent up, and hopefully not run into anyone - any recommendations on where to look? I'm not that familiar with the area at all, even after 10 years in Ottawa.

How far are you willing to travel? Not a whole lot of places like that in the City limits.

Considering I don't live in the city limits... :flipoff:

Anything I can access either with the Dodge or the Jeep, preferably within 2-3 hours of CP.

For lavant, if you take your time it will take an hour and 15 minutes without stressing anything too hard. We bolted DOWN the hill in 20 minutes LOL.

juniper lake has some well hidden campsites you can get to in your cj, also under the calabogie hydro corridor

a car can drive to the dodge lake site on the main rd but the other surrounding sites are not car friendly, any stock jeep or 4x4 truck are fine in there, the far end can get wet and slick though for street tires. but it can also be noisy as hell on that lake with ppl blasting techno and other shitty music into the wee morning hrs some nights cause it's so easily accessible

Oh we did get the cars in the other side but if You care about your car i would not recommend it. Great spot to camp though by far one of my favorites

His dodge or even trail blazer shouldn't have an issue in my opinion.

You planning on going sometime this year?

Thinking about heading up in a few weeks during the week, just need to get away from the office for a while.
