We had three recoveries, a broken axle, saved a life...and a great time today...at least I did! Went up on three wheels...in the water...and almost tipped into the mud hole with three passengers, but the Pinz pulled through. Thanks for leading the way today Logan....glad I could pull you out too! :D You kids and your North American made trucks!! :D :glasses: If you like Carp, you will like this more....just be prepared for water!

Other than my truck running a little "off" and hesitating after letting it sit for a bit during lunch, I am all good...maybe the plugs got wet??

Anyway, here are some pics and video.

Yup, he is stuck...(video)

First recovery...(video)

Almost a hydrolock!!

Second recovery.....(video)

Broken axle....

Austrian air conditioning...

Third recovery....

Alex to the rescue....

Next time....

Wow looked pretty wet!
Remember it is recommended with deep water crossings to at the minimum check/change your diff fluid. For jeeps if you actually got water in the tub you may want to look at doing your tranny as well. I had done my diffs the last time amd had no water but left my tranny until the end of the season and there was definitely water in it.

Yeah it was a blast yesterday. It was the girl friends first time out with me in it to so it was pretty funny when I snuffed it and filled it up with water. I got a good laugh out of it all. I wish I could have seen when the water went over the hood I was even going slow haha I went and drained the transmission this morning “it’s a AW4 with a screen” I hate it, I do it every water related trip it keeps ticking with constant fresh fluid since rebuild. No water in it or anything else which was nice I’m glad I relocated all 3 front vents as high as I could and the rear one inside the tub. The distributor on the other hand, I started it last night and it’s missing on #4, the cap contact is melted. Looks like a new cap Monday morning I guess… Next project big rubber plugs in the floor those metal ones suck to pop out. As well as a snorkel, seal and vent for the Distributor cap.

Thanks again for the pull Logan hope all went well with the axle replacement.

Good to hear I think with mine there is a rubber bushing at the top where the shifter goes through and had rotted away. When I went through last year it had come into the tub through the tunnel and I think it essentially submersed the vehicle up to the top of the transmission. I ended up changing both diffs and the transmission fluid and only had water in the tranny.

Yup I know that Bushing.. The oil was a different story... I’m glad I left it to sit over night to drain everything to the pan few hundred ml's of water in the oil... cleaned up the cap and distributor best as possible runs even on all 6 now. I need a 5.3/4l60..
Anybody have any luck making a vent for a Distributor cap?

I had moisture in the cap too, which caused a bit of hesitation and stumbling when I got home...
