LF: Axles D44's or D60's

I am looking for a set of axles for phase II of ODTJ.

Specifically, the criteria i am trying to abide by are:

• Keep WMS 65" or less
• HP front / Driver side
• Discs all around and need E-brakes
• 5.13 gears
• ARB/E-lockers front for sure
• ARB/E-locker rear however perhaps a detroit.
• Would like steering in place, decent-sized, H-S would be great

Ideally, brackets all in place for a TJ set up for 4 link in the rear.

Looks like i am not going to have as much free time...

I'll give you a good deal on a 14B with 5.13s, spool and disks if you are interested.

Don't bother waisting your time with the 44s unless you can find direct bolt ins.
By next winter, you'll be looking for a set of 60s to replace them. Do it now and get it over with.

I don't see a problem with running 44's? I've done it for 10 years on some hard core trails that you'd never see around Ottawa. This whole go big or go home mentality is not required for most of the trails we do in the area. Build it how you planned. You have done your research, and have a good plan of what and where you want to be on your build. Not everything is about the 'hard core'.

And that's why I'll never ask a "which axle is better" question on Pirate - I know everyone under the sun will just say 60's. Also makes me glad that I've got at least 1, if not 2 or 3, years to decide what axles to throw under the CJ.

Are you planning on a V8 swap down the line? Is the 4cyl here to stay? If so, lots of Toy/Zuk guys get by on D44/Toy axles with up to 39's, so why lose the ground clearance and the extra weight of a 60? Just a few points to ponder.

I will stick with the 4banger as long as i can, however when it goes, i wont' be replacing it with another 4cylinder

Honestly, YES, i think i would like to stick with D44's. Ideally, i'd really like to find some built up Rubicons, but they are VERY hard to come by.
As crazy as this sounds, i want to retain my ability to keep it stored in the workshop. Going any larger on the tires and i am done. I am already a bit concerned with my my LA lift i have bought....
