As per usual, the Rausch Creek spring trip is a go.

Thursday May 24 - Sunday May 27.
We travel Thursday, wheel Friday and Saturday, come home Sunday.
This is a 750 km road trip (~ 7.5 hours) to Pennsylvania. ~16 hours if you blow out a trailer bearing or a trailer wheel and don't have spares. Ask us how we know.

Primitive camping on site (most of us tent / sleep in our trucks / campers). Porta potties on site. Showers available a short way down the highway. Motels available in town.

There are a few posts on this in different thread, but the idea is that anyone is welcome, the park has trails for everyone, but you need to have someone of similar capabilities to join you on the trail as there is a minimum group size of 2. You can join up with groups at the park the day of, but I'm not sure if I'd leave that up to chance on a long road trip like RC.

It's one of the trips I'd really like to make, but without a trailer, it's just not going to happen. Maybe in the fall or next spring I can beg/borrow/steal a seat from someone.

As Kevin said... RC has lots to offer. There are green (ie fire road), blue (mild rocks), black, and red trails. The core group (myself, George, Steve) will be running black / red for the two days. If you can find someone to go with you, you could run the blue's all day long. Or, you can do what Mitko did last fall... which was post up on the Rausch creek offroad park forums. He hooked up with a group of Jeeps for the day and had that all arranged in advance.

so, as some of you are aware we did not make the trek down yet this spring, and we've loosely talked about doing a summer trip. Not my first choice as it will probably be hotter than fuck and fire bans in place. Having said that I want to get down there and looking at my calender tells me I have August 16th to 19th open. How does that suit any of the regulars? Brad, George, Adrian, Bill, Jimbog.....my other option *could* be July 26th to 29th but that is the Wheels-A-Churnin event weekend and I'd rather stay close to attend that as I missed the first event in June. Let me know what you think.

Steve, I am unfortunately in tournaments both those weekends. The august date might work, as we are unlikely to make nationals, but I won't know until end of July.

And yes, a fall trip will be happening. October'ish.

We are wheeling June 29th, 30th and July 1st. There are 5 confirmed trucks and looking like possibly 8 total. It is the weekend before July the 4th so I am hoping it won't be too crazy.
When we were there last year on August long weekend it was between 85-95 F each day and it was beautiful in the bush, there is lots of cover and we had a decent breeze all the time as you are up fairly high. The only place I found stupid hot was the lake bed which makes sense sitting in a bunch of rocks out in the open.

Hey Steve, I should be good for any date, just need some notice ahead of time, aug 16-19 is fine with me, so is aug long.
