May not as well for the Dana 30 but supposedly the 8.8 may need one as the shims go on the outside of the carrier and it gets super snug.

thinking I may pick up a diffspreader and a knockoff of the Yukon bearing puller tool.at least I will know it will be done right and I don't have to rush through it

Well I will definitely be using one. Just pulled the trigger on one as well as a knockoff of the Yukon Bearing Puller.
