Roll bar padding

My head can reach some of my cage so I need padding. I previously had the soft, offset padding but I find it very thick (1 1/8") on the thicker side:

So I was thinking of using this, which may be only a little less thick at 7/8", but looks more durable and would look better...

I had some of the same for my miata (rated 45.1 also). It's pretty firm stuff, almost uncompressable. I wouldn't really *want* to knock my bare head on it... but certainly preferable over just the metal of course!

You might want to try to source some 'comfort foam'? but fyi I have no direct experience with it: http://www.rollbarpadding.com/catalog

The comfort foam looks interesting, but it's described for vibration dampening so I'd rather not test my head on it.

I'm going with the softer offset foam, it's bulky but should protect the best.
