Hunting is still open till' Sunday, but I'd like to get out on Saturday. Missed the last Carp run and haven't been out in a while. I guess we need to stay in city limits to allow the hunters to do their thing. I'd do Carp, or if there are any other trails where we won't bother the hunters. I'm not a hunter so I'm not sure which if any trails are available to us this Saturday.

I'm gonna hit the Carp tomorrow, bringing my Dad out for a ride. As far as I know, Carp is within city limits, therefore not a hunting zone. Well, except for snipe.

Anybody else in?

I'm NOT interested in going anywhere where hunting is still in season. Not fair to those guys: they only get 3 weeks a year, and we get to wheel all summer.

Well I am on call and I have to help someone move some stuff in the morning. But, since Carp is so close I would be in if we were doin' the trail head around twelve. But we are thread jacking so we should post on my original thread "Saturday run anyone"

Everyone says it is stock friendly, there are some drops and water crossings, nothing too bad. It's used enough that it's not overgrown so pin striping is not a problem. The key is knowing what line to take through an obstacle. If you are not sure, have someone spot you. Everyone uses spotters from time to time, so don't try to just push through something you aren't comfortable with. That said you will hear and feel some banging and scratching on the undercarriage but I don't recall anyone breaking anything there. So if you are comfortable with a few bangs and scratches, by all means come out, everyone is welcome. We meet at the North parking lot of the Carp fair grounds and the trail head is just up the road. I would like to meet at 11:30 or 12, but Cochise was the one who suggested the run so I would like to hear what time he wants to go.

Oh, and Gibby I wouldn't worry about your tires too much. Not a lot of mud at Carp, and my 6000# Tahoe shouldn't have any trouble pulling you out if you get stuck. I'll have plenty of tools and gear with me as usual.

Go North up Carp rd. from the 417 till you hit the main intersection. Continue North and you'll see the fair grounds on your right. The North parking lot will be at the end of the grounds, can't miss it.

Sorry I missed your posts. I'd like to meet there for no later than 11:00. It's not a long run, maybe 2 hours in and out. I have to be out by 2 PM.

Head out to the fair grounds for 10:45, and let's try to get on the trail by 11. I'll be there be 10:30. Black XJ.
