I would guess looking at that pictures that it is a JCR Offroad that you are basing yours on? If so I bought mine from them and they have lasted very well and the design has held up to well to hard hits with that pinch weld attachment. It is only this last fall that I cut out my rockers and modified those rockers to fit upwards and in.

Take a look at JKS SuperNerfs too. The pinch seam mount is threaded into the square tube instead of a separate flange like shown on the rails in the picture above. Also, the legs are two piece so that the outer piece with the square tube slides into the legs that are attached to the body. The legs that are attached to the body can be welded or bolted at that point and you'd still be able to remove the outer part if you needed too without using a cutting tool.

I welded mine to the TNT stiffeners on my unibody and used the bolted connection between the outer and inner.

Hmm, looks like JKS doesn't make them anymore. Here's an install link that shows how they work:

Apparently TNT Customs makes a similar slider too but they don't have any decent images on their web site to see how they are made.

Just another idea to kick around. The JCR pinch seam is fine of course - my redneck eyeball just prefers the ORGS/JKS mount style. The ORGS/JKS mount style makes for a more rigid structure at the rocker.

Thanks again everyone. Not sure what make that plan is to be hones..google images...just to get ideas.....yeah they are all pretty close one to another..will propable get the main part done up then see where I actually want it to sit..but agree with root moose i like the way they sit and protect alot...could go gut and cut the rockers and replace..but not really sure thats what im looking for right now...see how heavy duty the wheeling gets first..havent banged the rockers yet..but im sure with lockers front and rear and getting used to the jeep i will be pushing a little more this season so planning on adding a little protection here and there...

I'm still doing the mental gymnastics of the rocker design for my MJ so I figured I'd post this while it is still in my head. :)

Here's another design that is closer to the first design you posted. It's home made so there isn't a lot of text about it:

The strip that attaches to the pinch seam is more substantial and supported by a third leg.

This style is probably easier to make. I've seen L angle used for that strip too. The other style keeps the square tube portion tucked into the body a lot tighter, which may or may not be what you are after.

Thanks everyone...the more ideas the better...have to agree on the 3rd leg supporting was thinking about that myself over the weekend...definately no lack of ideas..although the basic design seems to be pretty consistent from what I see...other than the ones that have you gut the rockers all together...still not sure about that one..guess if the riding takes me that far thats where ill end up but still unsure...descisions descisions...lol..spring is around the bend so Im gonna have to go with something sooner or later..but the basic metal I am still gonna go with and build from there...can get odds and ends and change stuff as needed once under way..never too late to modify or upgrade...great thing about building and not buying...
