Looking for a speedometer cable for my Samurai. I broke mine installing my tcase & now I've got an oil leak.

If you are not using the speedometer... You can weld the top of the speedo gear input and not use the speedo gear off the main shaft...
This will also make it easier to tear the tcase aprt in the future as you will not need to remove the speedometer gears any more.

I still drive this rig on the roads & even though the speedo is off by quite a bit, I like to know roughly how slow she's rollin down the road. Hard to believe but I've got a speeding ticket with it... Thanks for the tip though!

I can't find the link I saved for the fella's contact in Ottawa/Orleans with all the Sami parts - does anyone have it handy? I remember his avatar had a forest green sami climbing some rocks haha. I'd like to get ahold of him to see if he has one

There's a guy on Kijiji trying to sell THREE sammies. I wonder if he's a member around here. You could try him.

He has no more parts, sold the major part of the lot to someone in Toronto. The leftovers were picked up by a member here though.

I don't know what a Sami cable entails, but I had to replace the cable on my Iltis, as it had snapped inside the tranny housing. I pulled the cable from the sheath and replaced it with a Uni cable I bought at Bensons ($10). You just cut to fit. Works very well. Cautionary note, if you go this route, use pliers to crimp the end and not the supplied tool.
