Weeknight run anyone?

I don't think I"m going to be able to make any of the weekend runs until later this summer and I was wondering if anyone would like to go out one night during the week sometime? I work in Kanata until about 4 and was hoping there is somewhere that we could run for a couple hours after work that is close(ish) to Kanata.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Thanks,

Actually, that would suit me also. Working in Shirley's bay recently, and with sunlight until 9 or so, we could easily do the Carp trail after work, and go for some beers and wings (barring any troubles) afterward.

Arghhh, that's a decent commute :(

I work in Kanata until around then as well. I would like to go out but judging from the pics from last Carp run, my truck may not fit very well in the trail. Unfortunate as it would be fun.

Nick_Wa. What do you drive? My Tahoe made it through, but next time I would turn around before the last mud hole. You can only go another hundred feet anyways. It is a fairly safe run, and I would be up for it if we pick a day in advance. It's busy season for me. There are quite a few clearings and the bush isn't too dense so recovery should be easy enough.

I should mention. I am not a full OVO member yet. It seems like no one else has done this run, not sure how trail sharing works here. So I would like a thumbs up for this, from a senior member first. Not trying to be a douche.

As far as I am aware there is no issue as long as everyone respects the rule of turning around at the Grand Cherokee.
I may go if it is pushed off to next week and a definitive date is set.

This is pretty awesome to see so many with some interest in getting out during the week. Since I was the one to start the thread I'd like to propose we go Wed June 8th. Hit the trail around 5ish (depending on people's schedules).

Since this will be my first real wheeling outing, I obviously won't be leading the adventure, but am hoping someone who knows the area well will be willing to step up in to that position.

If we did Carp, do I need any special gear? I have a 2011 4dr Wrangler on a 2 inch lift with 33in Tires and a tow strap. Would we be airing down for this run or just running street tire pressure?

if the run goes on the wed i'm unfortunately not available.you guys are probably wondering who the heck i am... i've run carp many times in several different conditions. airing down 5-10 psi is a good idea for this trail, take the harshness out of the ride, no need to go really low and reduce ground clearance. have fun!

what kind of gm truck is going to go, a colorado by chance?

Carp is a minumum 31's
Airing down is optional but I usually do. 8th is good for me but I am flexible next week.
I don't mind leading either.

Yeah 2010 Sierra crew cab 4" lift and 33s. I only worry about rubbing up against things.

That's a lot of wheelbase...definitely skip the last mud hole if you go. Luc, was there any where else you rubbed the frame other than the last hole?

I wouldn't bring a full-size truck that you like the paint on this time of year, it will be pretty overgrown.
