So what day next week and what time? I was thinking 4:30 at Carp Fairground but the date? I would prefer no earlier than Wednesday.

That's a lot of wheelbase...definitely skip the last mud hole if you go. Luc, was there any where else you rubbed the frame other than the last hole?

On the way back there is a set of rocks, just after the creek. Got a little hung up there, but I should have taken another line. The group was stopped for a minute and I forgot my visualization of the line. Pretty sure I would clear it next time around. No damage though.

Stock JKs get hung up there some times as well depending on the line they take.

To be honest big trucks in general should not even bother going down there as it's the end of the trail and all that is there is the mud hole which if a big truck got stuck in, is highly likely not to get out unless there is another equivalent size truck. smaller trucks don't have the weight behind them as well you had a bear of a time getting around the trees in the bypass. But that's part of the challenge.

what were you driving back then?

The last adventure back then was Quinn Lakes. At the time I was driving a 1992 Tracker (Yellow). It was a large group (Around 15 trucks) and a long day getting through. I remember a few YJ's, a very lifted early 80's full size chev on 44's I think, a few Sami's.

That would mean we would be out of there by at least 9PM barring any issues. I think we are planning on earlier which is why I suggested meeting at 4:30 as someone mentioned off of work at 4.
I figure we wouldn't be hitting the trail until about 5.
Since no one has stated a date. How about Thursday (9th).

BUmp,
Since no one is really organizing this I guess I will.
Right now the choice of dates is Wednesday or Thursday

From what I can see this is the tally so far (let me know if you are in or not)
Me (in unless it is only me)
Cochise
WhiteJeepXj
bzzr2 (if not on Wed)
Logan

Good selection but I think to make sure we aren't out too late, we need to hit the trail by 5PM.
If no one has issue, how about meet at Carp Fairground (north side) at 5PM?

I would like to but I value my paint. Id rather not mess it all up now, I will wait for another Gorge run. If anyone wants to do Gorge on a weeknight Id probably be down, I usually am off work fairly early.

Understood. The first scratch is the worst (although with yours it may be the first dozen since yours is so big). My first time on this trail I put a fine scratch on it from the front of the tub all the way back to the rear.

I know I started the thread, but I think I'm with Nick_Wa. Going to back out on this one, the 4 door JK sits pretty much as wide a truck and she's brand spankin new. Would prefer to run it on something a little more open and save the paint for a few more months.

Have a great night out though guys!

Yeah, we will have to go out to Gorge run, from what I understand its mostly powerline. Do you have a winch?

The gorge sounds good. Where is it? Is it close enough for an evening run sometime? No winch for me, just a tow strap. You?

Well Logan and I are confirmed for Tomorrow (8th) for Carp. Meet at Carp Fairground between 4:30 and 5. I am shooting for the earlier, if no one else confirms before noon tomorrow, once both of us are there we are in the bush.

I will not be able to make it tomorrow...Not off work till 5ish. Not 100% out...call it 95%.

For those worried about scratching paint, at The gorge, you will have branches running down the side
of the truck in spots on the trail. Nothing that won't buff out. I might suggest Dwyer Hill as the trail is very wide.

It's off roading...expect some scars...it makes it easier when it inevitably happens.

Ok, maybe next week or week after we will go out. I don't have a winch - no strap yet either. Will have to figure out a decent trail to go to.

Logan and I went. It was really (I mean REALLY) dry compared to what it normally is. Trees are in full foliage and it was pretty built up. Wider vehicles would definitely get some pinstriping. We pretty much did it in 2 hours including airing down and refilling. With a ten minute stop at the turnaround point. The mud hole was beckoning but we knew better. Plus who knows how many mosquitoes it would launch if we went in.
