Regarding Chrysler, I don't think they would have made it if Fiat hadn't stepped in. At that point we would have not only put money in, they would have laid everyone off on top of it. For a while there it looked like Ford was going to be the only domestic that survived. Sad to say all the anti-multinational wingnuts may end up being right. God help us all.

Also we had to get out of the minority govt, it wasn't getting us anywhere for good (or for bad).

I was secretly hoping that Ford had a nest egg stashed away that could buy Jeep out from under Chrysler. Turbo eco-boost in a JK and fix everything else wrong with the JK and I might consider a modern Jeep.

There is always hope they get the diesel from Fiat. Rumor has it they might. The rest of the Jeep lineup supposedly is. It is only the JK that hadn't been confirmed last I heard

Only way I could stomach a JK would be if it had a real motor in it. the rest of the drivetrain isnt too bad. I test drove one and hated that engine with a passion. It felt more like a minivan than a Jeep.
