Want to come out to Hopetown area and build a couple of those patches for mine? Same spot, both sides. Typical Sami.still workin at it!
-banged out this patch with tin snips, channel locks and a hammer in about 15 min, still needs to be tacked in and painted, there is a hole the same size on the other side.....
Wait until you see them in person before you sign up lol :lmao:Want to come out to Hopetown area and build a couple of those patches for mine? Same spot, both sides. Typical Sami.
thanks man! more to come, shocks, axle gears & power steering before the snow flies!I just read your whole thread dude. Looks like a fun time. Love the rear section and the paint especially...and your skinnies look great!! Can't wait for my skinny 32s.
Would love to see this in action some time.
Hey jean guy , ya I replaced the intake manifold gasket when I got home and it's been great ever since!Did you figure out the carb problem?
I did weld plate from the body mount portion of the frame out to the back on my 3" square tubing, from metal supermarkets. i tacked it along the sheet metal like you said, then seam sealed it, but the strength is underneath.hey mox, what did you use for this - I saw some channel at PA and wondered if you used that, but yours looks like it is even wall, no butting or whatever at the angles.
I have rocker rot also...surprise
debating going this route which looks challenging b/c of the seam weld to the sheet. most likely will try a different route with mounting plate direct to the lengthwise unibody 'rails' as well as a few bolts along the pinch weld if enough solid material is still there.
ya the entire tube sits in nice, reaches the frame and only sticks out about a 1/4 of an inch from the sheet metal. I ran plate vertical from the frame out to the back of the tube.....extended the frame out to the rocker basically. made it stronger.you mean a plate horizontally to tie in the lengthwise portion of the new rocker to the frame/unibody rail?
Ah I see now, the whole 3" tube is IN there - shit. Nice man. lol
