Glad I called when I did, it is the one from the Belleville area. :)
The truck is in real nice shape, body has been rustproofed, there are only a few spot where the paint is chipped and one rust hole in the front fender. The interior too is very nice, drivers seat is a little worn but for 540,000km, I cant believe how nice it is. Front driveshaft needs a rebuild though, I think it was driven in 4WD on the road alot. 3.55 gears and and open rear differential......once its running reliably I'll swapp the limited from my '87 into it and maybe the lower gears.

Seriously, I was pretty pissed that I missed it, would have been a GREAT hauler.

Thx. I wish we had internet in the shop .... and by the time Steve called saying he read this, Iit was running.
I knew about pulling the fuse, its the Maxi Fuse in the #9 position. But couldnt find the fill plug. So I filled the oil galleries in the head and kept cranking.
I'll know for next time tho, really appreciate the help.

Took the truck for a drive, got it up to temp. Still smoke more than it should, but it may need a while to get all the moisture out. It still has a little miss, and was real hard to restart eventhough it was hot. But Batteries were low from all that cranking.....

I'll put my little charger on it this morning and see how it starts with full batteries.

So, how does it run?

I have a bunch of 1350 and 1410 slip yokes, flanges and other parts, if you want to give the dront driveshaft a whirl...

You woudn't happen to have a 1993-1996 sterling 10.25 rear dually axle for sale c/w rims drum to drum would you?? Looking to convert my 1995 F350 crewcab SRW to a dually.

Are you asking me or Dirk?

I have zero Ford stuff, all I have is Spicer driveline stuff I have accumulated through the years (driveshafts).

Jimbog, I have an '88 10.25" dually rear axle. Its in my '87 right now but that truck will soon be parked and parted out. I don't think there's a difference from it to the years you mention, except the pinion length or something like that. What gears are in the truck right now? Is it 4wd? And rims would go with it, but not the rubber. :)

I'd have a nice F350 if Dirk hadn't bought it out from under me :lmao:

Dirk I am still holding a grudge! :baby:

This sounds good. It is a 2wd with 4:10 gears I have lots of rubber sitting around. I believe the rims on dually are 16"? Yes the only difference was the pinion length and the pinion bearing size. Your 88, was it a cab and chassie dually or was it a pick-up version? The frame rails where narrower on the cab and chassie so the spring perches do not line up. But not a big deal to weld on some new ones. I think the drive shaft flange is different also, the 93 and up use the 1410 u-joint and 92 and older use the 1350. But hey if the price is right it might be worth it.

The 88 had a box, not cab and chassis, same frame width as yours. Dually rims are 16". How soon are you looking to do the swap? Are you planning to swap your gears & diff into the housing?

This summer I was hoping to do it. What is the gear ratio in your diff? If they are a higher # /lower range say 4:56 of 4:88. I might leave them alone. If they are the 3:55. I would swap over my 4:10 's as I will be using this to tow a 28 foot toy hauler. Gee I quess I should have started a new thread on this. Sorry about this guys.:(

Gearing is 4.10, Jim. Gimme a few weeks to make sure the replacement truck, the '97, is running reliably, then I will part my dually.
