More issues

my coolant problems persist.....

I inspected the oil after driving the truck home, 20 minute drive, I checked the oil and it was a real nice honey color... I was happy.

But the coolant level was low 6 litres because I just hadn't filled it. So I topped off the reservoir and moved the truck around the yard to clear snow. It ran 20 minutes maybe.
Now I check the oil and its about and inch over the full line on the dipstick and its milky again.

It seems that only the coolant I added leaked into the oil.

Any ideas? Some internal leak thats coolant level dependant? Headgasket, some other seal.....?

This summer I was hoping to do it. What is the gear ratio in your diff? If they are a higher # /lower range say 4:56 of 4:88. I might leave them alone. If they are the 3:55. I would swap over my 4:10 's as I will be using this to tow a 28 foot toy hauler. Gee I quess I should have started a new thread on this. Sorry about this guys.:(

OR...send him a PM for God's sake!!! :flipoff:

Dirk, the only guy I know and trust to touch my diesel is Brad Morris, (known him for years and the yellow 4Runner I have used to be his before he traded it for my wife's Zuk), he's recently licenced, (wrote his final exam like two weeks ago), and works at a truck shop in Williamsburg. His number is 613-227-7013......I can call him to give him a heads up on you and your issue....(he's about to leave the shop he works for and start his own mobile service, and he's always looking to make extra money....). Good luck.....(I know what it's like to have a diesel that don't work right.....:-(

Nice work. Now for the truth.......

Has it been worth the time/money or should you have bought one that ran properly? :D

I could have bought a used motor for $1200 - $1500, another $500 for fluids and filters, belts, etc...installed it and been done. That woud have been cheaper, if that motor wouldn't have needed repairs.
