Well we're(OJC) still getting our feet back on the ground after Robert had to shut everything down earlier in the year so we dont have much of our member base back yet. However I can say with confidence I know Atleast 3 people including myself will attend from OJC depending on the day. I'd prefer a sunday if possible.

I'd like to put forth the day of August 28th, we can use my step fathers place as a meeting point. Lots of parking, close to the trail head and easy to access.

As for back door do you mean from Central ave? or on Lyn road? This will take a full day by the way guys. This trail system is quite large if we're talking about all the side trails aswell.

I'm going to post up on the OJC site to see whos interested in the clean up, I'll post the preliminary date of August 28th.

The trail as a whole is fairly clean. It is the furthest from town ) that needs the cleaning. I wouldn't make this a trail run , and just a clean up. Where is the dump and is it open on Sundays? Which side does your father in law live on?

He lives near Stewart blvd.

And yes this is not a trail run. The trail isn't in any condition to be used for fun this year as far as im concerned. Nobody from OJC will be running it this year, and probably not next year either.

Lyn road is a small enterence where we wont have place to park any trucks. We obviously want to limit the amount of trucks we send in which means we will need parking both for the trailers and the trucks themselves of everyone that shows up. The Central ave enterence has that option.

As for the dump, I'm going to have to look into that for us. Give me an hour or two.

I agree sept. would be a better time for this clean up

I am not currently a member anywhere but I would be willing to help with a clean up. I have a trailer as well. It's been through the trail already this year and I am sure it would make it again. Is the aug 28th date a go or has it been decided on yet??

No date has been set until we talk to the Landowner, city, reporter and bicycle club. Also we need to see when the dump is open. There is no worry about taking trailers down the trail, since we won't even be on the trail. The area in question is at the end of the trail at a dead end road that locals have been using as a dump site. It is all concentrated in one location. So it will be a good in and out fast clean up.

There is a lot more than just the crap at the one entrance. When Rob, dillian and myself went through we barely made it in before we decided to turn back and had already taken out probably half a trash bag just for usual pick up when not moving procedures.

I dont think it'll be a 1 - 2 hour thing. I'd bank on 4 hours minimum including trip to the dump anyway.

Care to define what WTF "We" as OJD represents?

OJC, as in Ottawa Jeep Club.

Nothing has been decided. More than likely it'll be a saturday of some kind in sept. Reasoning: Dump isnt open sundays.

So if all goes well , we are looking at Oct 1st for the clean up, but don't change your work schedules untill we confirm amounst the clubs involved.

I'd be happy to help, but Oct. 1st will soon be upon us. Do you need help and or is the date confirmed yet? My friends son went with us up to Lavant last time and without ever having mentioned yet about keeping trails clean he was going around collecting garbage during the lunch break, he even got a little upset because I forgot about the hot dog wrapper in the fire pit Lol! Not bad for 11 years old, eh? I am sure he would love to join in as well. I can probably get a trailer as well if need be.

HOE - The clean up is definitely a go - we're meeting at the Tim's off the 401 by KFC at noon. It would be great to have more hands available. I've secured a dump pass at the city transfer station, and hopefully we'll get the paper out to provide some positive press.

If you still want to join me Richard, be at my place for 10:30

Will we be able to just walk in to pick up the garbage or will we need to ride in trail vehicles? If we can walk in then Barb and Zack will come along and I'll drive the Golf down.

Would that be from the HWY 29/Stewart Blvd exit?
