Lavant Trail Run This Sunday

With rain forcasted to begin Wednesday afternoon and running all the way through till Sunday, it could make for a sloppy run, so who's in?? Meeting at Loblaw's in Bells Corners at 9 am, pit stop at the Almonte Tim Horton's at 9:30 then off to the trail. Make sure you are gassed up, pack a lunch, bugspray and water....depending on who actually shows up we may take the 'alternative' exit just to make things interesting......

I still haven't gone out for a run with the club, but have been dying to go. Would this be too hard of a run for my first time out?

I have only done Lavant once and I believe there was a stock JK there so you should be fine.

There is one spot that is difficult and may need a tug or winch, but it also tends to scratch/dent rockers. If there's a lot of rain before then the trail will get harder, so depending how adventurous you are you may want to wait for another run.

Isn't there now a bypass to this up to the left right at the rocks? I think that stocker Rubi took this exact bypass when he did the trail last year. I presume you are talking about the rocks by the water hole correct?

He's talking about this spot. Mind you, I'm crossing the pond to get around the poor Tracker that is having issues. No the water is not that deep when you cross the rocky section.

Yeah, that's a fun hole :)

So, over by the rocky part, if you kept going (In that direction), you can skirt up to the left and avoid the larger stones that you have to maneuver through to proceed, like so:

Yeah that one, I haven't been in a couple years so I don't know about any bypass.

my first time wheeling anything other than essentially a dirt road was on lavant with my stock 98 XJ and I made it just fine. your JK will be fine. I dented my rockers and tore my exhaust but i was a lot lower. Listen to your spotter even if you dont really believe hes right, he is. On the way through I did damage because i was a panzy and went slow. on the way back i just gave 'er and didnt have any damage or issues.
