I take it that the water was much higher than usual? I'm surprised that Steve would need a winch.

Quite a bit higher than I remember last time I wheeled it lol. I look forward to seeing all the pictures from my little minivan stuck in the water lol. As soon as I got stuck in there I look over and all the cameras out and I'm "I'm saying, shit I'll never live this down now.."

2Greys, what kind of trail is Carp? I was looking at a couple of pictures of it and it looked interesting. Who all is going so far? Mind if I possibly join in? I picked up my tow point and put it in my Jeep and I'll remember not to take it back out again so I don't need Tony around this time. haha

Steve's Sami was hurting bad man, he didnt need a winch in the water, he needed it to get up a hill but believe me he gave it everything that sami had lol.

Oh btw I got a bunch of video on my TB's phone, I'll upload them to my youtube account if thats fine with everyone and we can all see it.

Jesus Twinkie give it a rest. Stop trolling I'm not going to get into another cat fight with you. Let it go.

Carp is a really basic trail. It's a good starting trail for newbs as it has everything, mud, water and a bit of rocks. Minimum 31's. You would probably want to go just for the sake of saying you had done it. I like it because it isn't a full day affair. When Logan and I did it a couple weeks ago it was a total of 2 hours from air down to air up and we weren't even trying. But there isn't much of a challenge to the trail itself if you are over 31's.
BTW it isn't until the 9th, forgot which weekend this is.

Grenaded a side gear in the front 3rd at RC in April, then Sat nite before the run, I put in my spare front 3rd with the smaller 22 spline side gears and had to use a shitty old stock set of inners, one of which (the short side) was already semi pooched at the birf, and finally after beating the hell out of it and the noises coming out of the front diff screaming 'please stop, please stop', I decided to unlock the front hubs and continue in 2wd........well before the original 'pond'.......but other than the one hill climb I had to pull the winch for a 100' section, I had that truck bouncing of the rev limiter in 2wd most the way to the top........lol. You should see my chromolys though....after 3 trips to RC and one to North Augusta where I only fucked around on the tough truck course, I have managed to twist the splines on the long side......WTF??? I really hate to admit defeat and say it's about time to 'upgrade' to Toy's, perhaps if I wheel a little more gentler the truck would be okay.........lol.

Gentle doesn't look like your style Steve lol. I was amazed at how well you did in 2wd.

I think the highlight of my day though was that FJ as far as capability. Balls wise I'd say its Dwayne for showing up in a stock Dakota. At first I was thinking, well maybe if he doesnt mind damage it might.... but then I saw how deep everything was and he went sideways on the easier stuff. Glad he didn't keep going after the pond playground thing, it was bad enough dragging my ass through the water section, i cant even imagine the dakota trying it.

Yeah, I remember reading about that back in the RC thread - I had gone through in a stock Sami with you 2-3 years ago, and I figured if my underpowered and poorly geared Sami could do it, yours could in 2 or 3wd as well.

Where did the chromo's come from? Trail Tough I presume? Any warranty on them any more? Sucks that it took that "little" to twist the splines after how long you managed to keep the stock pieces together.

Slow learner but eventually you will "get it" :p Go toy's and 35's and you might have a chance at the notch :glasses:

nope, I have always been proud to keep my Zuk a Zuk with the exception of the YJ's.....and I could always go back to the 4:1.....it's the 6.5:1 that is causing the damage....well no, it's me....all me, putting that truck places I want it to go......proud of that too.......If I wanted a big horsepower, big axled beast I would build one......got one on the brain but not right now, I love wheeling that Zuk!!!

I just wanted to say thanks to all for a great day - especially to Steve for leading the way, and to Tony for pulling me out! Thanks for being patient with a newbe. It was fun. I learned a bit, got a few more "pin stripes" and dents (on the under side), but that's what it is all about - especially the fun part! I will definitely see you at another trail run again soon!
