The 22nd

You guys okay with a non member coming out? I'd love to get out the Gorge to test the lift kit. Did it a while a go without the lift, but now that I have it, looking for an excuse to use it, and the club I normally wheel with has been quiet lately.

As title says - we will be runing Gorge Nov. 22 - Sunday. Meeting at Zelers parking, leaving 9.00 sharp; Second meeting location - 9.45 at Antrim Truck Stop - Arnprior. Tow points, tow straps, lunch, cameras, GF, etc...
If any questions - ask. DP - dont ask .

What time in Burnstown? Been a couple years since I have been to the Gorge, is there parking at the trailhead for my tow rig?

Most of the guys park the tow rigs on Burnstown Rd at the top of the hill (at Mervin Lane), about 500 meters from Lower Spruce Hedge Rd (the road in to the Gorge). If you don't want to drive the buggy that far on public roads you can trailer all the way in and park there if you wish.
As for time, assume 30 minutes or so from the Arnprior time.

Hmmm, not sure if anyone has ever taken a good look at the satelight image of the Gorge area, but if you follow the road past where we turn on to the hydro line, there appears to be another hydro line about 2 to 2.5Km's further down. I wonder...

Yeah, I think there are 3 hydro lines, because we pass one on the way in too.

I've taken the Hydro Line located South East of White Lake down off Bellamy rd. That line will take you to Hwy511 and beyond.

I would say about 10.20-30sh; as Twinkie said there is a nice spot to park/unload; see you there.

How stock can we go?

Hi Gorgers!

As noted in the introductions forum I just made a cross country move. Left behind the most fun older vehicles, but I could easily handle some well used trails in the powersmoke. It sounds like there is the option to take things easy and get to know the ground, which would be ideal for me.

Would it be OK to meet in the Zeller's parking lot and go out on a run, prior to a club meeting on the last Thursday of the month?

I have no CB, ran out of time before the move, we got by on FRS handhelds on the drive out. I've got front and back receivers and some blocks and cables and chains. I have no intention of getting stuck, but if someone ventures into a side run and needs a hand getting out, I'm all about that.

Is the off ramp still under construction? It's been a couple of weeks since I was out that way.

The intersection is now about 200 meters further east then it used to be, that's all. And you now enter Antrim from the backside...

cap

If I plan on being as calm on the trail as possible, can I get by with leaving my cap on? The Ford beds are notorious for some major flexing. My old F150 shorty was pretty amazing for it. I haven't really seen this crazy long F250 in too much action so I'm planning on just idling through the easiest course.

leaving the cap on should be ok....if you are "calm". :D
With a fullsized rig you will get some branches rubbing, but thats about it.
