There is a couple spots where it is a bit steep of a drop (like 18" at most) and if you take it wrong it can bang stuff. First thing I did when I got my jeep was get rid of the hitch. Stupid rock magnet. Carp in general is a pretty tame trail but it is a great place to get your feet wet. The JK will be fine. I used to run a 2" lift with 31's it was more exciting then. Now with 33's there is no challenge.

I hope to hit up the Carp trail again next year, because although it was a touch destructive, it was a good learning experience.
My main downfall i think was Inexperience. I'm still new to wheeling, and not knowing how to approach those rocks was bad news. No CB raido, so i couldnt ask, and we were spaced out enough I had no spotter, or no passenger to give pointers.
Secondly, I quickly decided a 2" budget boost lift is a priority, as well as a skid for my oil pan.
Lastly, my hidden hitch has to go. I'll be building a new rear bumper with receiver built into it in the near future to gain some clearance.
Just thought I'd share that so people who are hesitant know the whole story. It's probably not that bad of a trail if you know what you're doing! ;p

You did good, but yeah I could see you weren't too sure how to approach. I was behind you when you went down that ledge, and thought "Geez, he's going at that a little fast" *bang!* Oops.

Like you said, it's good experience, you'll get to read which way to approach the more you do it, but until then you bang stuff up a little.

Keep in mind it was a night run, and that's a little harder to do, especially if you don't even know what the obstacle looks like to begin with (never having been there before).

That's the fun part.

Everyone good for this weekend? Sat or sun?

It's not a long trail to do, a couple hours if we fart around. I'm in for Saturday, can't Sunday.

By farting around, I mean I'd like to see if that ZJ still has a transfer case in it. I might flip it over and take it. Ultimately, it would be a good project to haul that POS out of there (but not this Saturday).

EDIT: I don't plan on flipping it over on it's roof, only pull it up enough to get underneath. :flipoff2:

I'm down. I have a free passenger seat if someone doesn't mind giving a FNG tips on how not to roll-over/flip/explode. I have an all stock 95 YJ on 31" BFG All Terrains. If this won't make the cut just let me know. I have limited experience (once) but I'm interested in going.
